Two killed, two injured in Chicago high school shooting

On Friday afternoon, a shooting outside Benito Juarez High School in Chicago left two people dead and two others seriously injured.

The incident occurred as students were being dismissed from school and the victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

At this time, the ages and identities of the victims have not been confirmed, and it is unclear whether the perpetrator or victims were students at the school.

Chicago Police Department Superintendent David Brown held a press briefing on Friday evening, during which he stated that the investigation into the shooting was just beginning and that any speculation on the incident would be inappropriate. No suspects are currently in custody.

Governor JB Pritzker took to Twitter to condemn the shooting, stating that schools should be safe places for students and that the incident was an example of senseless gun violence.

Pedro Martinez, the head of Chicago Public Schools, expressed concern over the shooting and stated that all efforts were being made to find answers and ensure the safety of students.

Worried parents arrived at the school to check on their children, with one parent stating that it was frightening to think that their child was at a school that had been the site of a shooting.

The Chicago Police Department announced that the school had been given an “all clear” several hours after the incident. This shooting serves as a reminder of the ongoing issue of gun violence in the United States and the need for stronger measures to ensure the safety of students and communities.

It is a tragic loss for the families and loved ones of the victims, and our thoughts and condolences go out to them during this difficult time
